Aline (pronounced uh-LINE) is a teleprompter for iPhone and Mac that puts your script right under your camera and scrolls while you speak.

The script isn't scrolling when I talk
Open Settings and tap Calibrate. Stay quiet for 3 seconds, then read the sample sentence aloud. If background noise keeps the script moving, raise the threshold or use headphones. You can always switch to constant scrolling.
Aline can't hear me
On iPhone: Settings › Aline › Microphone. On Mac: System Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone, then turn on Aline.
Screen recording doesn't work on my Mac
Allow Aline in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Screen & System Audio Recording, then try again.
My scripts aren't syncing between iPhone and Mac
Make sure both devices are signed in to the same Apple Account with iCloud Drive turned on. Changes usually appear within a minute.
Voice scrolling stops when I float the prompter over another app
Some apps, like video-call apps, take over the microphone. Switch Aline to constant scrolling while you use them.
Privacy Policy

Aline is built to keep your words yours. The short version: we don't collect any data about you.
What Aline doesn't do
- No accounts, no sign-up, no ads.
- No analytics, tracking, or advertising identifiers.
- No servers of our own. We never receive your scripts, recordings, or voice.
Your scripts
Scripts are stored on your device. If iCloud Drive is turned on, Aline also stores them in your personal iCloud so they sync between your iPhone and Mac. That data is held by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy, and we can't access it.
Microphone
Aline uses the microphone only to tell when you're speaking, so the script can scroll with you. This happens entirely on your device. Audio is not stored or sent anywhere, unless you choose to make a recording.
Camera, screen and recordings
The camera is used only to show your preview and make recordings when you ask. On iPhone, recordings are saved to your Photos library. On Mac, recordings are saved to your Movies folder. They never leave your device unless you share them.
Children
Aline doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

If this policy ever changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
